The history of Devenish Island begins with the very earliest period of Irish Christianity. The 5th Century, in the time of St. Patrick.
During it's history it has been raided by Viking (837ADl and burned (1157AD)
Co.Fermanagh is full of lakes and these small islands. At sunset and sunrise they are the most peaceful places to be.
The photos show the colours both in natural light and in the evening under artificial light bulbs.
It has wonderful textures both on the water and in the bushes. It's hard to resist to touch. Varnished in gloss it adds an extra shine.
